2.1. Before Installation

IMPORTANT:
Upgrade from Parallels Panel 10 SMB Edition BETA to the release version of Parallels Small Business Panel 10 is not supported.

Before starting the installation process we strongly recommend that you create a full system backup of the entire server.

2.2. Software Requirements

Parallels Small Business Panel 10 for Windows requires one of the following OS installed on your computer:

Internet Information Services (IIS) should be preinstalled with World Wide Web (WWW) Service and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Service support.

A static IP address should be configured in the OS prior to installation of Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows.

Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows can be installed only on NTFS partition.

In order for your server to support Server Side Includes (SSI) and Active Server Pages (ASP), you need to install these components manually.

If you plan to use MS SQL Server support in Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows, the MS SQL Server should be installed and configured to use standard or mixed security mode. If MS SQL Server is not installed, you can select Microsoft SQL Server to be installed with Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows and configured with administrator name 'sa' and random password.

IMPORTANT: We strongly recommend that you install Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows on a clean server; specifically, only above-mentioned operating system components should be installed.

2.3. Installation Steps

To install Parallels Small Business Panel software on a server:

  1. Log in as Administrator or another user with Administrator privileges.
  2. Download the latest version of Parallels Products Installer that suits your operating system from http://www.parallels.com/download/panelsmb/ and save it on your server's hard drive.
  3. Change your working directory to the directory where the downloaded Parallels Products Installer is located.
  4. Run Parallels Products Installer. The Parallels Products Installer wizard will open in a new browser window.
  5. Log in to Parallels Products Installer as Administrator or another user with Administrator privileges.
  6. Follow the instructions presented on the screen to complete the installation. Refer to Parallels Small Business Panel Installation Guide available at http://download1.parallels.com/PPSMBE/10.0.0/Doc/en-US/online/parallels-panel-smb-installation-guide/index.htm if you need detailed installation instructions.
  7. In some cases when the installation is finished, reboot confirmation will be requested.
  8. After the reboot Parallels Small Business Panel will be started automatically.

In order to finish the initial configuration of Parallels Small Business Panel, you need to login to Parallels Small Business Panel on your host at https://domain.name:8443 or https://IP-address:8443

The default username is "admin" and the default password is "setup". Both are case sensitive. For security reasons the default password has to be changed upon initial login. Continuing to use 'setup' as a password for administrative access to Parallels Small Business Panel is extremely dangerous for your server.
