Parallels Small Business Panel 10 for Windows requires one of the following OS installed on your computer:
Internet Information Services (IIS) should be preinstalled with World Wide Web (WWW) Service and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Service support.
A static IP address should be configured in the OS prior to installation of Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows.
Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows can be installed only on NTFS partition.
In order for your server to support Server Side Includes (SSI) and Active Server Pages (ASP), you need to install these components manually.
If you plan to use MS SQL Server support in Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows, the MS SQL Server should be installed and configured to use standard or mixed security mode. If MS SQL Server is not installed, you can select Microsoft SQL Server to be installed with Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows and configured with administrator name 'sa' and random password.
IMPORTANT: We strongly recommend that you install Parallels Small Business Panel for Windows on a clean server; specifically, only above-mentioned operating system components should be installed.
To install Parallels Small Business Panel software on a server:
In order to finish the initial configuration of Parallels Small Business Panel, you need to login to Parallels Small Business Panel on your host at https://domain.name:8443 or https://IP-address:8443
The default username is "admin" and the default password is "setup". Both are case sensitive. For security reasons the default password has to be changed upon initial login. Continuing to use 'setup' as a password for administrative access to Parallels Small Business Panel is extremely dangerous for your server.
Parallels Small Business Panel 10.0.0 for Windows distribution package ships the following components:
[+] Flexible User Hierarchy - Parallels Small Business Panel features a simple yet flexible user hierarchy that allows Administrator to grant users a variety of management privileges through the User Roles feature.
[+] Small and Medium Business End-User Experience - All aspects of the Parallels Small Business Panel were specifically designed to address the needs of small and medium businesses.
[+] New Licensing Model - Parallels Small Business Panel is using a new licensing model that operates with user accounts instead of websites. This model reflects the needs of small and medium businesses, providing them with a good deal of flexibility and business opportunities. Additional employees can be accomodated by purchasing User Packs, which come in different sizes to satisfy different business needs.
[+] Domain and Website Management - Parallels Small Business Panel offers a variety of powerful functionality for managing domain names and websites. Panel users, if granted with such privilege, can easily manage things like DNS zones, subdomains, databases, domain aliases and so on.
[+] Integrated Site Editor Tool - Site Editor is a powerful, flexible and easy-to-use tool that allows Administrator to quickly create company website from scratch.
[+] User-Oriented Application Provisioning - Installed applications are provisioned to users through User Roles. Shortcuts to installed applications are placed on the My Services pages of all users who were assigned the corresponding User Roles.
[+] Single-Point Application Access - All applications installed and provided to users are available to them from their My Services page, which eliminates the need for browsing different Panel pages for different applications.
[+] Application Marketplace Integration - Parallels Small Business Panel is closely integrated with Application Marketplace where best-of-breed applications of all kinds are sold.
[+] Company Employee Directory - The list of user accounts is available to all users, which serves as a company employee directory. Contact information specified in user account properties is also visible to all users, improving work communications.
[+] Simple and Elegant Interface - Parallels Small Business Panel features a completely redesigned, clean, simple and elegant interface that allows users to perform their duties quickly and efficiently.

Parallels Small Business Panel 10 operating in Parallels Containers environment does not work in offline management mode.
If you encounter errors related to session_start() when opening an application after backing up and restoring the website with this application, remove the temporary session file mentioned in the error message and reload the page to resolve this issue.
If you install SpamAssassin after creating a number of mail addresses, SpamAssassin will not filter messages sent to these addresses. To resolve this issue, go to Server > Mail, clear the 'Switch on SpamAssassin spam filtering' checkbox, click OK, then return, select it again and click OK.
Site Editor does not support International Domain Names (IDN), so websites that use IDN cannot be created in Site Editor.
After installation, the Panel cannot be accessed for up to five minutes. Please wait for five minutes after the installation to make sure that all post-installation scripts finish their work correctly.
Parallels Small Business Panel cannot be installed if installation path contains non-ASCII symbols.
SmarterStats user is created with credentials of a corresponding domain FTP user. It should be noted though that SmarterStats user password will contain only alphanumeric characters, and '_' symbol used in place of all non-alphanumeric characters.
Parallels Small Business Panel does not automatically detect third-party components. If a new third-party component is installed after the Panel installation, you need to log in to the server as Administrator or another user with Administrator's privileges and run defpackagemng.exe -update.
If you encounter problems with uploading large backup files into server backup repository through GUI, upload these backup files on a remote FTP server first, and then import them to Parallels Small Business Panel server repository through Backup Manager in Parallels Small Business Panel.
Error message is shown when you install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and installation path is more than 57 characters long: see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935371 for details.
After the Panel installation on some configurations, the following error might appear in the Event Log:
Failed to compile: Microsoft.SqlServer.BatchParser, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 . Error code = 0x800736b1
This error is not caused by Parallels Small Business Panel, does not affect Parallels Small Business Panel functioning and can be safely ignored. If PVC MSDE template was installed after remote database servers were set up in Parallels Small Business Panel, working with remote database servers will be forbidden because PVC MSDE template switches the work mode from remote to local. To resolve this issue, you have to manually switch the work mode from local to remote.
SMTP sessions are not blocked by DNSBL if you are using Smartermail Free 5.5. To resolve this issue, set up SMTP sessions blocking by DNSBL in the Smartermail mail server settings.
Drwebcom.exe is falsely detected as a virus by AVG, which leads to the Panel installation/upgrade failure.
