1. Introduction

Thank you for downloading this update of Plesk 8.3 for Windows. This file contains information that supplements the Plesk 8.3 for Windows documentation such as requirements, information on new features, corrected bugs, known problems etc. This file was updated with the latest information available at release time.

IMPORTANT: Plesk 8.3.0.1 Update for Windows is for updating existing Plesk 8.3.0 for Windows installations. If you need to upgrade existing Plesk 6.5.x, 7.0.x, 7.5.x, 7.6.x, 8.1.x or 8.2.x for Windows you should install Plesk 8.3.0 before upgrading.

2. Installation Instructions

  1. Log in to your server as "Administrator" or another user with Administrator's privileges.
  2. Download update distribution to your server.
  3. Change your working directory to the directory where the update was downloaded.
  4. Run the installer "msiexec.exe /p <update distribution file name>.msp".
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  6. In some cases when the installation is finished, reboot confirmation will be requested.
  7. After the reboot Plesk will be started automatically.

4. Known Problems and Limitations

  1. If you wish to perform patching over the network, you should have write permission for the Plesk distributives (which are unpacked during Plesk installation). This note does not apply to the web installer.
  2. If Tomcat installation was removed via "Modify" option, you might be unable to open Plesk Control Panel getting "Service Unavailable" message. To fix the issue you shall remove "isapi_redirect" filter from IIS and launch PleskControlPanel service then.
  3. Plesk 8.3.0.1 Update for Windows is not removable.
