1. Introduction

Parallels Web Presence Builder 11 for Parallels Automation is a software suite for hosting providers, which is intended to operate under Parallels Automation (Parallels Operations Automation). Parallels Web Presence Builder 11 for Parallels Automation is integrated with POA using two APS packages:

2. What's New

Legend:

[+] new feature

[-] bug resolved

[*] bug resolved and functionality improved

  1. [+]  Support for publishing on Microsoft Windows-based hosting servers. Parallels Operations Automation can now publish websites to Windows-based hosting servers.

  2. [+]  Website Dashboard. Website Dashboard is a one-stop information hub where a website administrator can see the current state of their website. The Dashboard provides one-point access to such vital information as visitor statistics (based on Google Analytics), Comments (based on Disqus) and E-Shop orders (based on Ecwid). Learn more about the Dashboard.

  3. [+]  Columns. Customers can add modules via drag-and-drop not only one under another, but also next to each other, automatically creating columns. Up to three columns can be created. Learn more about changing website layout.

  4. [+]  Flexible layout. Customers can change the elasticity of various website areas independently of each other – for example, making header elastic while keeping fixed width of the remaining content. It is also possible to make sidebars start next to the header, as opposed to under it. Learn more about changing website layout.

  5. [+]  Round corners. Customers can make corners round for any given website area (header, footer, sidebars, content). Learn more about changing styles of website elements.

  6. [+]  The Logo module. The website logo is now a separate module that can be added outside the Banner module. Learn more about using the logo.

  7. [+] The Feedback link. Users can leave their feedback about the product and request improvements using the Feedback link located under the Help menu. This feature is based on the UserVoice service. Learn more about this and other changes.

  8. [+] Extended language support for third-party components. Users can choose almost any language for their website in the editor's Website Settings, and this language will be used by all third-party components that support it.

  9. [+] Right-To-Left languages support. Users can choose a Right-To-Left language for their website, and their website will be fully RTL-compliant. Note that this ability does not affect website editor itself, only websites.

  10. [+] Option to synchronize sidebar and content height. Users can enable synchronization of sidebar and content heights to ensure that both sidebars and content always reach the footer. This functionality is available on the Design tab.

  11. [+] Website name and slogan outline. Users can make website name and slogan stand out by enabling outline effect in corresponding properties.

  12. [*]  Site-wide concept changes. Header and Footer are now site-wide areas, so every module put in them is displayed on the whole website. Sidebars and Сontent have a page-specific area in the center and site-wide areas at the top and the bottom.

  13. [*]  The Design tab. Layout and Style tabs were combined into one Design tab to improve usability.

  14. [*]  Banner image positioning improvements. It is now possible to put your banner image module in the website content, diversifying the design of your website.

  15. [*]  New color schemes. More than 20 new color schemes were added. Color schemes now have human-readable names and are more fun to read.

  16. [*]  Improved generation of website designs. Websites are now generated with color schemes that suit website banner images. Website generation also makes use of various new features added in this version.

  17. [*]  Improved design of the website topic selection screen. The topic selection screen was redesigned to make it more focused and to make the Search function more visible. The website name and website topic language options were moved to the Prefill Your Website screen.

  18. [*]  Image Gallery paging. The Image Gallery module has customizable paging, making life easier for the owners of huge galleries and their visitors.

  19. [*]  Mobile websites. Websites are now optimized for viewing on smartphones and tablets.

  20. [*]  Hiding the SiteBuilder 4.5 import feature. Administrators can hide the SiteBuilder 4.5 import feature to make it unavailable from the GUI. Learn more about it.

  21. [*]  Making modules unavailable in the editor. Administrators can prevent customers from using certain modules in the editor. Modules can be hidden for the whole installation, not per-site. Learn more about it.

  22. [*]  Prohibiting users from removing their sites. Administrators can prevent customers from deleting their sites from the editor by removing the Remove Site button. Learn more about it.

  23. [*]  WPB now displays proper and detailed error message when opened in unsupported browsers.

  24. [*]  Shortened sharing links from YouTube (youtu.be/) can now be used in the Embedded Video modules.

  25. [+]  Support for new languages. The editor now additionally supports the following languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Italian, Chinese traditional and Chinese simplified.

  26. [+]  Blog. The Blog module gives users the ability to add multiple blogs on their websites. Users can post their thoughts, news, and other interesting bits of information by creating blog posts in a blog module the same way they create a page. Blogs come with the "cut" functionality and calendar.

  27. [+]  Comments. The Comments module is based on Disqus, the most popular commenting system. The Comments module can be added to any page or blog post, allowing website visitors to leave their comments. A website owner can moderate these comments right on the website or in the editor after logging in to Disqus. This module can replace Guestbook for those who need it. Registration with Disqus (free of charge) is required to use this module.

  28. [+]  Document Manager. Small businesses will be happy to know they can easily upload price lists and other documents to their website through Document Manager. These documents can be made accessible to website visitors through standard Link functionality of the Text & Images module.

  29. [+]  Limited content import from SiteBuilder 4.5. Upon selecting a website topic, users can click Import Site from SiteBuilder 4.5 and specify the URL to their SiteBuilder 4.5 website for importing the content and design of their old site to Web Presence Builder 10.4. Note that this functionality has some limitations – not all content and design can be imported.

  30. [+]  Hiding of editing panels. Most modules have editing panels that are not typically used more than once. To prevent these panels from showing up every time you open a module, you can click Hide Panel to hide the editing panel for that particular module. Clicking Show Panel will bring the panel back again.

  31. [+]  Adding and removing website topics. Hosters can add their own website topics and remove existing topics from the list of website topics in the Editor. This can be done via a special command-line utility.

Learn more about the topics modification here.

  32. [+]  Custom links to the Getting Started video and Help. Hosting providers can modify the links to the Getting Started video and Help in a configuration file. Different locales are supported for both video and help.
